    US Senator Lindsey Graham said Wednesday that the biggest challenge for the Iraqi government was to disarm militias and integrate them with security forces. 

    "The situation in Iraq is better and I think things are good," Graham said in a statement to a number of media outlets, including Sumerian News. 

    "All Iraqi politicians must understand that the turnout was low," Graham, who is currently visiting Baghdad, said. "This is an opportunity for the Iraqi people to unite and not to exclude anyone." 




    He pointed out that "one of the major challenges for the Iraqi government is how to deal with the militias and the disarmament of them and their integration into the security forces," adding that "one of the reasons for the presence of militias is the weakness of the army," he said. 

    "It is difficult to defeat a preacher in Iraq if we do not have an American presence in Syria," Graham said. "America has sacrificed more than 4,000,000 people in Iraq." 

    He pointed out that "Iran will have an impact in Iraq and the region, but the impact is different from hegemony," he said.
