Former Iranian president Mohammad Khatami, the leader of the reformist movement in Iran, said his country had gone back 100 years on justice and democracy, warning that this would bring about the fall of the regime.

He pointed out during a meeting of a group of young reformist movement, to the massive protests in the country a few days ago, saying it was the result of the spread of poverty, corruption and discrimination policy.

Khatami warned of corruption, describing it as a sweeping flood threatening Iran and the revolution, stressing that the current regime has failed to confront it and to achieve justice.

The former president stressed that "saving Iran" and "avoiding the threat" from the country is the priority now, calling on his reformist movement to interact with the sincere movements of the country and make changes within this front.
