Parliamentary Security: Israel wants international legitimacy to strike Iraq

The head of the parliamentary security and defense committee, Karim Aliwi, confirmed that “Israel”, through its complaint to the UN Security Council, wants international “legitimization” to strike Iraq.
Aliwi said that “Israel has strong support from America”, adding that “we saw how the Western world responded to the International Criminal Court to punish Netanyahu and his Minister of Defense, but America stopped this matter and denounced the court’s decision”.
He added that “Israel wants, through this complaint, to have international legitimacy to strike Iraq, and this is known and is exploiting the current situation”.
The head of the parliamentary security committee pointed out that “even if the factions did not participate in this matter, Israel is using this as an excuse and claiming and accusing Iraq of striking Israel, and this is something that Israel is working on in order to have a pretext and an excuse to strike Iraq at the behest of America”.
He pointed out that “America has a decision from Iraq regarding the withdrawal of its forces in June of next year, as the decision against the entity was considered a pretext for America to remain inside Iraq, considering that the factions are now dominating the Iraqi situation, striking Israel and striking American bases in Iraq”.
Al-Aliwi believed that “there is harmony between America and Israel in order for American forces to remain inside Iraq and for Israel to have an excuse to strike Iraqi factions or forces inside Iraq.”
In addition, a report by the American newspaper, The Washington Post, confirmed today, Saturday, that the arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court against the Prime Minister of the usurping entity, Benjamin Netanyahu, and his Defense Minister, Yoav Galant, put the Israeli entity and its American defenders in a critical predicament, as many Western countries, including close allies of the United States and the Israeli entity, called for respecting the ruling of the International Criminal Court against Benjamin Netanyahu and Galant.
The report stated that “based on the American reaction, one might think that the International Criminal Court is headquartered in Beijing or Moscow, but the group of judges at the International Criminal Court, whose headquarters are located in The Hague, the administrative capital of the Netherlands, issued arrest warrants against the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, and his former Defense Minister, Yoav Galant, on charges of committing crimes against humanity and war crimes in connection with the Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip.”
“Although neither Israel nor the United States are parties to the Rome Statute on which the court is based, 124 other countries are parties and are therefore bound by the court’s decisions. The Palestinians joined the ICC in 2015, meaning the court can have jurisdiction over crimes committed in the occupied Palestinian territories,”
the report added. “After the news broke, several Western countries, including allies of the United States and Israel, called for respect for the court’s ruling, while some confirmed that they would carry out arrest warrants if Netanyahu or Galant appeared in their national jurisdictions,”
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau told reporters. “We are a founding member of the ICC and the International Court of Justice,” he added. “We stand for international law and will abide by all regulations and rulings issued by international courts.”
For his part, Caspar Veldkamp, the Dutch foreign minister, said that the authorities would arrest Netanyahu if he “set foot on Dutch soil.”
A French foreign ministry spokesman said that France supports “the work of the court’s prosecutor, who operates in a completely independent manner,” and reiterated previous statements that the court’s work is essential in “the fight against impunity.”
The report noted that “although Netanyahu remains welcome in the United States, he will have to think carefully about embarking on trips that risk an emergency stop in a European country and being arrested, as Netanyahu joins an ignominious list of leaders wanted by the International Criminal Court that includes Omar al-Bashir of Sudan, the late Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, and Slobodan Milosevic of Serbia.”
