Head of the Hikma Movement, Ammar al-Hakim, stressed today, Saturday, that Iraq's duty towards the region's crisis must be consistent with its reality and capabilities.
Al-Hakim said in a statement received by "Mawazine News": "We discussed in the Baghdad Diwan for elites and professional and union competencies the conditions of the region and the massacres committed by the occupation in Gaza and Lebanon, and the devastation and destruction it left behind on the Lebanese and Palestinian arenas in full view of the world."
Al-Hakim noted that "the decision of the Supreme Criminal Court was welcomed by the world, except for some countries that expressed their condemnation of the court."
He continued, "Killing and destruction are not a victory for any country, and the use of weapons and excessive force is not an expression of victory, but rather victory comes by achieving goals, while revolutionary movements triumph by blocking the path before others and preventing them from achieving their goals."
Al-Hakim pointed out that "the killing machine used by the occupation provided a state of revenge, retaliation and resistance to them inside Palestine, and the flame of resistance continues."
He added, "Hezbollah's steadfastness prompted the entity to deploy five military divisions with elite forces, and it did not achieve any of its declared goals, the most prominent of which was the return of the displaced to northern occupied Palestine, which prompted its media to acknowledge the strength and training of Hezbollah fighters," describing "the steadfastness of the factions in Palestine and Lebanon as legendary steadfastness."
He stressed, "Iraq's duty towards the region's crisis must be consistent with the Iraqi reality and its capabilities," emphasizing "political, media and relief support, and we called for objectivity in the type of support provided to the two dear countries."
