    Baghdad Today - Follow-up
Deputy Secretary-General of the Arab League, Hassan Zaki, announced today, Saturday (November 23, 2024), the League's intention to hold an "emergency" session tomorrow, Sunday, to discuss Israeli intentions to launch military attacks on Iraq.
Reuters reported in a report translated by "Baghdad Today" that "the emergency session of the Arab League, which will be chaired by Yemen, comes against the backdrop of the UN Security Council announcing that it had received a memorandum indicating the existence of Israeli intentions to launch direct military attacks on Iraq under the pretext of the increase in attacks from Iraq on Israel since last September."
Zaki pointed out that "the session will be held at the direct request of the Iraqi government," stressing that "most Arab countries have announced their official and direct support for Iraq's initiative to take a unified Arab position against Israel's intentions to expand the war to include Iraqi territory."
It is noteworthy that Hebrew media outlets published content during the past week confirming the existence of "intentions" of the Israeli regime to launch "retaliatory strikes" against targets inside Iraq, explaining this by the increase in the frequency of attacks by drones launched from Iraqi territory towards Israel.
