Erdogan: We have taken control of an important part of Iraq

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has confirmed his country's intention to clear the Qandil mountains and the Sinjar district of northern Iraq from the organization "Beka Ka" as well as the cleaning of Manbeg and the areas occupied by the organization east of the Euphrates in Syria from terrorists.
"We have taken control of an important part of the terrorist activities in Iraq," Erdogan said in a speech at the opening of the new legislative year in parliament.
Erdogan stressed the determination of Turkey to clear the Kandil mountains stronghold of the "Bk Ka" terrorists completely, as well as Sinjar (Mosul), "which is on its way to become the new Kandil mountains."
He pointed out that Turkey wants to "rid Iraq of sectarianism as soon as possible and become a secure, stable and prosperous, in the interests of his people and the region."
He stressed that Turkey will continue to support all efforts in this regard and take a leading role when necessary.
Erdogan expressed confidence that the return of Syrian refugees from Turkey to their homes will gain momentum whenever Turkey expands the areas that made it safe in Syria.
