The Minister of Commerce Mohammed Hashim Al-Ani, on Wednesday, reviewed and reviewed all previous contracts for the import of tea, oil and rice.
Al-Ani said in a statement to the news agency that "a war to hit the pockets of corruption that are trying to impede the work of the ministry has begun and that the corruption will follow you, after the approach of transparency in performance is firmly established in the ministry and should not be left."
Al-Ani "audited and reviewed all previous contracts for the supply and processing of ration card items, especially tea, oil and rice."
While referring a number of cases to the Office of the Inspector-General for the purpose of the investigation and then referring them to the Integrity Commission, he stressed that "the Office of the Inspector-General and the Legal Department are mandated to follow up the cases of corruption allegations and to investigate all actions taken and to uncover the faults in all contracts." On the need to "diagnose corrupt and refer them to the judiciary in accordance with the information and evidence obtained from the committees formed for this purpose."
He pointed out that "the next phase will see more scrutiny in all cases that have been registered with the Ministry of Commerce in successive periods in previous governments," saying "we will work to put things in perspective and identify errors and return public money."
Al-Ani pointed out that the ministry "took responsibility for the mistakes made in the past," noting that "will be seriously work to remove them and develop new plans to change the mental image recorded by public opinion on the performance of the ministry in the past years."
