The Prime Minister, Adel Abdul Mahdi, on Thursday, the government's readiness to activate the work of the Iraqi-Palestinian Joint Committee, while expressing his desire to strengthen relations between the two countries and peoples.
The media office of the Prime Minister, in a statement received / Mawazine News / copy of it, that "Abdul-Mahdi, received the Chairman of the Committee of the Palestinian parliamentary brotherhood, Amran Khatib and his accompanying delegation."
"Palestine has a place in the heart of every Iraqi and it is our duty to defend the rights of the Palestinian people and its just cause," he said, adding that "Iraq and its people have historic and continuing positions to sacrifice and defend the right of the Palestinian people."
He expressed his "great welcome to the visiting Palestinian delegation," stressing "the readiness of the Iraqi government to cooperate and activate the work of the Iraqi-Palestinian Joint Committee."
For his part, the head of the Palestinian delegation, Amran al-Khatib, praised the "democratic transition taking place in Iraq and the building of the state of institutions and the position of the Iraqi people along with his brother the Palestinian people." He said: "We are with a strong, prosperous Iraq and happy to overcome terrorism, Great and disrupting its economic growth. "
"The greetings of the Palestinian president and the prime minister and their desire to visit Iraq," Khatib told reporters.
