Under the patronage of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Industry and Minerals is holding its fourth annual conference to support the national industry and its minister confirms the continuation of the implementation of the government program for the development of industry and local production.
Under the patronage of the Prime Minister Dr. Adel Abdul Mahdi and the presence of the Minister of Industry and Minerals, Dr. Saleh Abdullah Jubouri .. The Ministry of Industry and Minerals on Wednesday and on the ground of the Baghdad International Fair its fourth annual conference to support the national industry and the promotion of a campaign made in Iraq under the slogan "The role of the industrial sector in the implementation of the government program ), Which was attended by the economic adviser to Prime Minister Dr. Kazem al-Hassani and a number of members of the House of Representatives and Inspector General of the Ministry of Industry and Advisor and a number of secretaries of ministries and directors-general in the departments and companies of the Ministry and other ministries of the State and representatives of the trap V private and mixed industrial sector.
The conference aims at presenting the reality of the Iraqi industry in all its public, private and mixed sectors and presenting and discussing the problems and obstacles facing the companies of the Ministry of Industry and means of solving them to enable the ministry to implement its plans according to the government program. Al-Jabouri said in a speech during the conference that Iraq is looking forward to achieving a comprehensive development renaissance in which it needs clear minds, objectives, economic policies, objectives to develop the country's sectors and diversify the non-oil budget resources, pointing to the role of the industrial sector in the economic and social development process and its active contribution in creating opportunities; To work to reduce the problems of poverty and unemployment and achieve economic security, stressing the need of this sector to strengthen the real government in light of the acceleration of the large global industries and the emergence of renewable industries, stressing at the same time the need to develop production To domestic to be able to compete in domestic markets for similar imported goods.
The Minister also stressed the importance of the industrial sector for its human capabilities and technological capabilities, thus enhancing its role in implementing the government program by increasing the level of production and productivity, developing the skills of the labor force, expanding the level of industrial investment, enhancing the competitiveness of industrial products, applying national product protection laws and imposing duties and taxes on imports to encourage Industry and industrialists to expand their projects, pointing out that the Ministry of Industry prepared its program and industrial strategies according to the government program announced to meet the needs of the community of industrial products and Enhancing the security of society, taking into account the achievement of the Ministry's vision of achieving a national competitive industry regionally and globally.
The conference included a number of working papers presented by the specialists in the industrial sector, reviewing the challenges and obstacles facing the Iraqi industry in their public, private and mixed sectors as vital and important sectors that have a significant impact on the growth of the country's economy and finding ways to overcome them in order to improve the national industry and achieve diversity and balance in the macroeconomic structure. Contribution to non-oil GDP and to enable the private sector to manage Iraqi industry by transforming the public sector into private through participation and investment.
The conference resulted in a number of recommendations, the most important of which is the obligation of the ministries of state to purchase the products of the Ministry of Industry and Minerals and impose taxes and additional fees on imported goods and goods, as well as allocation of funds to implement new industrial projects and collect debts owed by other ministries and activate the role of the Consumer Protection Council and other recommendations.
