Announced the head of the coalition, "national" Iyad Allawi, for the formation of a new political name "the Iraqi platform."
The formation aims at reforming the system, building state institutions according to the standards of efficiency and integrity, while cautioning against the "birth of a new generation of preachers" in light of the current political environment in the country.
"The platform is not a new political party, but an entity that we hope will be active with associations and federations with a broad popular base," Allawi told a news conference in Baghdad with a number of political figures.
He added that "the platform will not accept the accession of any personality representing a sect or clan, and we reject the accession of any party, and we welcome the accession of figures that do not represent their party or mass or sect or clan," noting that "the platform emphasizes the importance of women, who represent half of society."
According to a statement issued by the platform, earlier, its strategic objectives are "reform of the political system to be away from quotas and exclusion and marginalization and eradication and sectarianism."
