BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Iraq's compliance with US sanctions on Iran will deprive Iraqis of electricity, the House of Representatives Energy and Energy Committee warned on Sunday, calling on the government to take steps on the issue.
"Iraq needs dry gas from Iran, which feeds about 3,600 megawatts in electricity stations, which operate on it, and when Iraq is prevented from importing it at the present time, it means depriving the Iraqis of electricity," said Ali al-Aboudi, a member of the committee. .
Aboudi said that "US sanctions on Iran should not harm Iraq and that there are serious steps by the government to resolve these issues," noting that "Iraq can not in a short time to provide this gas."
Al-Aboudi, a member of the al-Hakim movement, criticized "pursuing the policy of viewing without any actions parallel to the challenges that require bold decisions." Ending / 25
