    Ministry of Communications announced the opening of 3G Internet service for all networks and mobile phones.
    The authorities have blocked Internet service during popular demonstrations in the country earlier this month as a "security precaution," according to the Interior Ministry.
    Usually the service was partially for Wi-Fi but remained blocked from social networking sites

    The Baghdad Media and Communications Commission has issued a clarification to all 3G mobile Internet subscribers.
    A statement received by the Euphrates News Agency said, "We note to all the subscribers of the Internet telecommunications services on mobile 3G that it directed all operators of telecommunications services (Zain Iraq, Asiacell, and Cork Telecom) to compensate the subscribers within the 3G services for the period of Internet interruption, And stop the new activation or allow subscribers to reactivate, and stop the automatic activation of data transmission services and not to deduct any money from subscribers to these services because of the disruption of the Internet service from the source.
    The TRA confirmed that "its procedures are enforceable by the mobile phone companies with respect to compensating subscribers for the period of service interruption through joint coordination with the TRA and Internet service providers."
