    Yesterday ended the page of the constitutional deadline that obliges the largest parliamentary bloc to choose an alternative from the resigned prime minister.

    Although the expectations were for the President of the Republic, Barham Salih, to issue, at the beginning of the dawn hours, a letter commissioning Al-Suhail, so that the latter would begin the authorship journey, which was set by the constitution in accordance with Article 76 / Second within a period not exceeding thirty days from the date of the commissioning, but that was postponed until the afternoon Today, when the supreme religious authority, Ayatollah Ali Al-Sistani, has issued its weekly statement, even if it implicitly indicated its position on the proposed alternative.

    According to information, Al-Suhail is the most likely to get the position, because of the political support he receives from Parliament, especially by the construction coalition, Al-Fateh coalition and the rule of law It would, if it carries negative signals, return matters to the first square, or prepare for the exit of a second and quick option, the sources prefer to keep secret, for fear of dropping it.

    But if Al-Suhail was formally assigned, this would be a win for the allies of Tehran, who considered the removal of Abdul-Mahdi an American requirement, according to what the Secretary General of Asaib Ahl al-Haq described, Qais Khazali, considering that the resigned president is punished for his refusal to proceed with projects that serve American interests in Iraq.
