The Bondage of Atlas – Part One

The Rise of Socialism and the Rent Seeking Elite

“Learn to distinguish the difference between errors of knowledge and breaches of morality. An error of knowledge is not a moral flaw, provided you are willing to correct it; only a mystic would judge human beings by the standard of an impossible, automatic omniscience. But a breach of morality is the conscious choice of an action you know to be evil, or a willful evasion of knowledge, a suspension of sight and of thought. That which you do not know, is not a moral charge against you; but that which you refuse to know, is an account of infamy growing in your soul. Make every allowance for errors of knowledge; do not forgive or accept any break of morality.” – Ayn Rand, Atlas Shrugged
Fiat currencies and fractional banking cannot function in a true capitalist system. Capitalism is the great promoter of competition and production, both of which are stifled under the non-productive and non-competitive manipulated systemic structures of a debt based economy.
Like to ancient monsters, fiat and fractional methodologies feed from each other to the detriment of the disorganized masses.
Fiat, the vacuum of wealth, is the necessary component of the fractional banking expansion of non-production.
Fractional banking, the act of expanding the money supply by leveraging debt for more debt, is the exterior skin which holds the ever increasing injection of fiat.
Both expand together until non-production reaches a critical stage.
Production is the only true measure of economic growth and stability. Primitive man produced the means of survival with survival acting as the true measure of wealth. The goal on an instinctual level has always been about survival. And survival serves the larger esoteric act of creating opportunities of consciousness.
More on that in another post.
The metrics of survival were found in food hunting and gathering, food storage, water sources, and other knowledge based actualizations.
The actualizations were realized through patterns and processes. The largest pattern which primitive man could observe and study was the rising and falling of the sun.
The sun, a great mystery to ancient man, was correctly determined to be the bringer of all life. This is why the attributes of all monotheistic gods and the sun are one and the same.
As such, gold became the sun actualized upon the Earth and silver became the actualization of the moon. Both precious metals were reckoned to be stable containers of survival actualized as wealth retention. Wealth, as we’ve discussed previously, is human time and labor. Time and labor are the required components of survival.
It wasn’t long before man’s fall into consciousness brought about a realization of self. This self, or separation of whole, soon devised methods of transferring the time and labor of others to their own storage containers of wealth.
The wealth storage containers mimicked the patterns in nature to further develop sociological structures. These tribal structures, rudimentary laws, were to orbit around the wealth containers, held in check by the gravity of the larger mass.
This was the first rent seeking, a method of ensuring survival from the time and labor of those disorganized within the world of matter.
A pattern which repeats since the beginning of human consciousness is one where the rent seeking elite pull more and more of the wealth within its body politic while the larger disorganized masses are left with ever decreasing means of survival.
The increase in survival means for the rent seeking elite leads to wastage. This wastage slowly develops into all manner of cultural and sociological debasement. Those at the top of the metaphorical food chain become lost to the world of matter and conscious awareness becomes trapped within the pleasure actualizations of the physical world. The large disorganized masses, left with marginal means of survival, dream of winning the lottery and becoming one of the elite. Both cannot escape the prison of the senses and it is soon forgotten that production is the true product of mans time and labor. Wealth, being security of survival, no longer drifts upon the waves of the longing sun, but is now locked into the harvest of gold and silver, both of which bring us backward so we may move forward once again.
Since the esoteric sun is separated from the exoteric gold in the minds of man, conscious economics has no path home and the fall of man is complete.
