Parliamentary Legal: The Constitution Amendment Committee is still in the preamble stage

A member, Salim Hamza, said: The [url=https://www.thebaghdadpost.com/ar/Story/t/132921/%D9%84%D8%AC%D9%86%D8%A9 %D8%AA%D8%B9%D8%AF%D9%8A%D9%84 %D8%A7%D9%84%D8%AF%D8%B3%D8%AA%D9%88%D8%B1]Constitutional Amendment Committee,[/url] which was formed by the parliament, did not take any significant step during the whole month of its formation, and it remained three months old and is still in the stage of reading the preamble to the constitution.
He added: The meetings of the committee are few and not intensive because of the conditions the country is going through now, which makes the work of this committee below the required level, and you will not be able to complete the task entrusted to it during the remaining period.
He explained: There is another committee formed by the President of the Republic, which is now working silently, and included legal experts and a great deal has gone forward, and its work is tireless, and will pay off in the coming days because it relied on the people of competence and not on the political auctions in the process of selecting its members. Stressing: The parliamentary committee is still in the preamble stage, and its members do not agree on the contentious points in the law.
He pointed out that the Presidential Committee will send the amendments and proposals related to the constitution to parliament in order to vote on it, and then present it to the people with public approval.
In turn, the deputy of the masses' mass, Manar Abdel Muttalib, stated that the process of selecting members of [url=https://www.thebaghdadpost.com/ar/Story/t/132921/%D9%84%D8%AC%D9%86%D8%A9 %D8%AA%D8%B9%D8%AF%D9%8A%D9%84 %D8%A7%D9%84%D8%AF%D8%B3%D8%AA%D9%88%D8%B1]the constitutional amendment committee[/url]On the basis of quotas, he will repeat the same mistakes of the Constitution Writing Committee and the same existing constitutional loopholes. Noting: The committees for amending the constitution are supposed to be among the jurists and specialists in the field of the constitution, and are not members of the House of Representatives.
She explained: that these experts must be nominated by the Supreme Judicial Council away from the national or sectarian quota system, so that its work is in the interest of the whole of Iraq because we want a constitution free of problems and complications, and be similar to the constitutions of the world.
