On Tuesday, the deputy of the Parliamentary Bloc of Badr Al-Ziyadi revealed that five candidates for the presidency of the interim government were presented to the President of the Republic, Barham Salih, to choose one of them, indicating that two of them are the most fortunate.
Al-Ziyadi said in a statement to Galamash Press, "There are five names presented to the President of the Republic, and after negotiation, only two names remain, and they are the most fortunate, Ali Al-Shukri and Mustafa Al-Kazemi, but the matter has not been resolved yet."
He added, "We had hoped that the issue would be resolved before the President of the Republic traveled, but the matter was not approved by the political blocs," suggesting that "it is possible that an independent figure who is far from the political blocs is presented."
He affirmed that "The Walkers' Bloc announced that it does not nominate any person and authorized the masses to choose the prime minister, but if a character is agreed upon, it does not oppose the opinion of the masses and the demonstrators."
And that "Muhammad Allawi was, until yesterday, the strongest candidate, but the blocs did not agree to him, there is a change that occurs within hours," adding that "it is possible that a candidate will get out of the political arena, and it is up to President Barham Saleh to return."
