    Baghdad Today - Karbala
    The Federal Integrity Commission announced today, Wednesday (October 2, 2024) that it had arrested a tracker and monitored violations in two departments of the Real Estate Registration Directorate in Karbala Governorate.
    The Government Media and Communications Office said in a statement received by Baghdad Today, "The Commission's investigation team in Karbala, which moved to the Real Estate Registration Directorate in Al-Hur District, was able, after follow-up, to arrest one of the persons who was following up on transactions without any official capacity or agency from the concerned parties that would authorize him to review the directorate, noting that the accused was presented before the judge of the Karbala Investigation Court specialized in integrity cases, who in turn decided to detain him in accordance with the provisions of Article 240 of the Penal Code." 
    The media office added, "The team identified violations in the second real estate registration directorate in the governorate. After a complaint was filed by a citizen who owns a plot of land registered in his name, the directorate opened a new statement in the name of another buyer, despite the existence of a previous statement in the name of the complainant, indicating and acquiring all procedures. Meanwhile, the team was able to seize photocopies of the property statement according to the department's incoming register, two receipts, and a notary's transaction."
    The office stated, "In another seizure operation carried out by the team in the same directorate, the office drew attention to the discovery of the transfer of ownership of a property belonging to a citizen, despite the issuance of the agencies in 2018. It was revealed through the investigation and audit conducted by the Karbala Investigation Office team that the Karbala II Real Estate Registration Directorate had committed several violations, including not requesting the validity of the issuance of the agencies, as well as not requesting the validity of the issuance of the civil cards of the heirs, in addition to the existence of a deficiency in the sales statement for sellers who hold the nationality of one of the Arab countries."
    He added, "Fundamental seizure reports were prepared in the operations and presented to the judge of the Karbala Investigation Court, which is specialized in examining integrity cases, to take appropriate legal measures."
