An international economic website reported that Iraq ranked 37th globally and sixth in the Arab world in terms of the number of workers for the current year 2024.
Al-Eqtisad News reviewed a table published by the Global Economy website, which showed that “more than 17 million people from the workforce are in Iraq during the current year 2024.
He added, "China ranked first with 763.97 million people in the workforce, followed by India in second place with 657.614 million people, then the United States came in third with 149.452 million people in the workforce, and Indonesia came in fourth with 136.934 million people.
Iceland came at the bottom of the table with 83,000, followed by Suriname with 140,000.
Iraq ranked sixth in the Arab world in terms of workforce, with 17.331 million workers, after Egypt, which came in first place with 44.914 million workers, followed by Sudan with 26.74 million, followed by Algeria with 21.484 million, followed by Saudi Arabia in fourth place with 18.699 million, and Morocco in fifth place with 17.762 million.
The Global Economy website provides reliable economic data on various countries of the world and provides data covering more than 500 economic indicators for more than 200 countries since 1960 until now, and uses multiple sources such as central banks, national statistical institutes and many international organizations.
