Shafaq News/ A responsible security source reported on Wednesday that the "C" alert status that the security forces in Iraq entered on Tuesday evening, following the ballistic missile strikes launched by Iran against Israel, has ended.
The source told Shafaq News Agency that the state of alert among security formations throughout Iraq has ended, while the alert remains in place in health institutions.
He explained that the authorities maintained a state of alert in these institutions in conjunction with the reception of Lebanese refugees and in the event of the arrival of wounded among them as a result of the attack launched by Israel on the southern suburb.
A security source reported yesterday evening, Tuesday, that all security forces entered a state of maximum alert "C", with full deployment within the areas of responsibility, and control of entrances and checkpoints, in preparation for any emergency.
The source explained to Shafaq News Agency that directives were issued yesterday to deploy forces in empty spaces, following the attack that targeted Baghdad Airport.
He explained that this measure came in anticipation of the possibility of attacks targeting the headquarters of the American missions, while he indicated that the security deployment in the Green Zone of the Special Forces is a natural measure.
On the other hand, the Prime Minister's media office reported in a brief statement that the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, visited the headquarters of the Joint Operations Command in Baghdad to follow up on developments.
