    Economy News - Baghdad
[rtl]Nabil Al-Marsoumi, Professor of Economics at Al-Maqal University, identified the financial costs of official and unofficial holidays in Iraq, noting that the country ranks first in the world in terms of the number of holidays, which causes huge financial losses.[/rtl]
[rtl]Al-Marsoumi stated in his post on Facebook that the total annual salaries of employees in Iraq amount to 90 trillion dinars, while official and unofficial holidays amount to 140 days annually. [/rtl]

[rtl]The daily cost of holidays, including Fridays and Saturdays, amounts to 246 billion dinars, while the annual cost of holidays amounts to 34 trillion dinars.[/rtl]

[rtl]He pointed out that unofficial holidays, which include holidays due to rain, high temperatures, and religious visits, cost Iraq about 5 trillion dinars annually, recommending that the authority to grant holidays be limited to the Prime Minister’s Office to limit losses.[/rtl]
