    [size=18]Independent MP Abbas Yaber Al-Atafi called on the House of Representatives to hold an extraordinary and public session to host the President of the Republic, Barham Salih, and to explain the reasons for not assigning him any name to the Prime Minister despite the nomination of several names, bearing him responsible for disrupting life in the governorates that witnessed demonstrations.


    Al-Atafi said in an interview with Alsumaria News, that "the central and southern governorates are a volcano and anger over the political forces and the government completely," noting that "life is stalled in those provinces and all this is because of the procrastination of the President of the Republic and the lack of resolution of the candidate for prime minister."







    He added that "there are many names that were presented to the President of the Republic, but he did not assign any of them without disclosing the reason for rejecting these names despite the critical situation and the lack of time."

    Al-Atafi stressed that "the President of the Republic is required to come out in a statement and openly tell the Iraqi people what is happening." Noting that "the House of Representatives bears part of the responsibility also in the event that it does not hold an emergency and public session in front of the Iraqi people and the President of the Republic hosts to explain its position on the reasons for not nominating the candidate until the moment".


    Al-Atafi stressed that "all political blocs bear responsibility for what is going on, and they are required to work in the name of Iraq and agree on a non-controversial figure to nominate them." The real assurances of holding early elections and bringing in a government that meets the demands of the masses outside of quotas and partisanship. "
