A medical detachment recorded yesterday 15 cases of fatal and direct injuries to the head and body of young demonstrators as a result of the use of hunting rifles by security forces against demonstrators in al-Khilani Square, Al Wathba, and the surrounding areas in Baghdad.
The Iraqi security forces shot the live demonstrators directly and deliberately, and a protester was wounded by a smoke grenade at close range.
Delegates from 16 countries in Iraq, including France, Britain and the United States, condemned Monday the use of excessive force by security forces and armed groups, and called for a meaningful investigation into the deaths of hundreds since last October.
