    The deputy of the Najaf governorate, Mahmoud Mahmoud Al-Zajrawi revealed, Thursday, the launch of a new project to develop desert lands with a view to expanding the agricultural area to ensure the achievement of water and food security in the province.
    Al-Zajrawi said in a statement to "Al-Maalouma", that "technology is one of the solutions in greening desert lands and converting them to agriculture", stressing "the launch of the project to expand desert lands and turn them into green areas."
    He added, "The current season will witness an unexpected increase in the paddy yield compared to previous years due to the abundance of existing water quantities."
    The deputy from the Najaf governorate, Fadel Al-Fatlawi, confirmed in a previous statement that the harvested quantities in Najaf from wheat and barley differ from the previous year and there is a decrease in agricultural yields, as the production of wheat and barley reached more than 100,000 tons. Ended / 25h
