Late yesterday evening, the House of Representatives retreated from proceeding with the Federal Court law, which was described as controversial, and passed the amendment to its previous law, thus postponing the dispute over it to the next parliamentary session.

The escalation of the disagreement between the political forces, especially the Kurdish objection to Article 12 of the Federal Court Law, and their insistence that the decision-making mechanism be by consensus, and not by the majority that other blocs insist on.

The House of Representatives was forced to resort to Plan B, which stipulates the pillar of the new law including the postponement. And vote on the amendment of the previous law.

Before that, representatives of minorities and other deputies had objected to the presence of experts in Islamic law in law ... in addition to the mechanism for nominating members of the court.]
