The Legal Committee of the House of Representatives confirmed, on Thursday, that the Federal Court's decision regarding the Provincial Councils Law is crucial and does not accept appeal.
The deputy of the committee, Almas Fadel, said that "the provincial councils law is one of the important laws for the conduct of legislation in the provinces," noting that "the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan bloc had observations about the law, especially in the disputed areas."
She added, "The Federal Court's decision does not accept appeal and will be decisive," noting that "the decision of the House of Representatives is to end rather than cancel the work of the provincial councils."
And she emphasized that "seeking to merge the provincial council elections with the upcoming legislative elections on 10/10/2021, without reaching a result."
And the Federal Court announced today, the postponement of the appeal against the provincial councils law to the 2nd of next month for the purpose of scrutiny ... according to the court's statement.
