    On Wednesday, the Baghdad Water Department revealed new projects to secure water for the outskirts of the capital, while reassuring its employees of contracts and daily wages by including them in Resolution 315.
    Baghdad Water Director Raad Khairy said in an interview with the Iraqi News Agency and followed by "Economy News", that "there are several projects under opening and completion in areas south and west of Baghdad within the poverty line campaign that will be completed in the coming months," stressing "work to improve water quality in terms of distribution." Completing networks and raising hydropower.
    He added that "there are central projects that have been lagging since 2012," noting that "the governor of Baghdad held an extensive meeting with the implementing companies to resume work on these projects after facilitating some administrative matters."
    He continued, "Among these projects implemented by Al-Karama are the Mahmudiya water project with a capacity of 4000 cubic meters per hour, and the Sheshbar Central Expansion Project to serve the areas of Mahmudiyah with a capacity of 1,000 cubic meters per hour," explaining that "the bridge water project with a capacity of 4000 cubic meters has been started, and projects to increase Water in the Latifiya district and treating the scarcity on the outskirts of Abu Ghraib, Al-Nasr and Al-Salam districts by implementing a 400-cubic-meter tank as a collection and re-pumping station for these areas that have suffered from interruptions in water sources.”
    And regarding contract employees and the daily procedure, Khairy said, “After the department’s employees requested contracts and procedures regarding their inclusion in Resolution 315 and the Ministry of Finance secured salaries according to the scale that was included in the 2019 budget, the Governor of Baghdad made contacts with the Finance Committee in the House of Representatives and the Ministry of Finance to ensure the rights of these slide".
    He added, "A meeting was held last week between the governor of Baghdad and the budget officer in the Ministry of Finance, Sami Spectrum, and the requests of this segment of employees were transferred," noting that "Finance assured that there is an inclusion of their rights."
    He pointed out that "the reason for the delay in the matter is due to the failure of the Financial Supervision Bureau to complete the audit of all contracts and submit them to the Ministry of Finance," stressing that "the governor met the representatives of contracts and wages and promised them well that he will continue the matter until their rights are secured."
