[size=52]Parliamentary Legal: The elections may not take place on time[/size]
[size=45]Yesterday, Saturday, the Parliamentary Legal Committee ruled out holding early elections on their scheduled date, while identifying many reasons for the delay. Committee member, MP Salim Hamza, said in an interview with Al-Mada that "the current environment at the political, economic and even security levels is unstable, and therefore the date of the upcoming parliamentary elections is not fixed and may change."[/size]
[size=45]Hamza added, "Most of the political blocs will hold the elections on their scheduled date next October," ruling out at the same time, "the holding of early elections on time for many reasons, most notably the circumstances that Iraq is going through."[/size]
[size=45]And a member of Parliamentary Legal said, "If the elections are held in light of what is happening, they will be fraudulent and unsatisfactory for the Iraqi street."[/size]
[size=45]Earlier, the representative of the Victory Coalition, Hussein Al-Aqabi, described the multiple electoral districts with the “dangerous and sensitive” paragraph, while indicating that there are fears prevailing in the upcoming elections.[/size]
[size=45]The next elections are scheduled to be held on the tenth of next October, according to what the House of Representatives voted in a session held on January 19, 2021, amid government pledges to conduct fair elections away from the power of arms.[/size]
