The Kurdistan Regional Government promised its citizens the best services, and today it is fulfilling its promises
Today, Monday, September 27, 2021, the Prime Minister of Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, inaugurated a number of silos and factories for the farmers' wheat marketing project in the capital, Erbil.
The silos and factories that were opened are part of the project (marketing the farmers' wheat crop), which consists of two phases. The first includes 20 silos, 5 factories, 20 other silos and 8 factories in the second phase, provided that the project is fully completed within two years.
In a speech he delivered during an official ceremony attended by the concerned ministers and a number of officials, the Prime Minister said: "We are here today to launch this project, which we laid the foundation stone for at the height of the financial and health crises less than a year ago, and we are opening it in a record period."
He added, that seeing these strategic projects enter service delights the hearts, especially as they contribute to achieving food security for the Kurdistan Region.
The Prime Minister indicated that this project is among the first similar projects distributed to the rest of the provinces of the region, and its main goal is to serve the farmers, dispel their concerns, receive their crops and transform them into food, then market and display them in the markets to secure the daily requirements of the citizens.
The Prime Minister called on the investors of Kurdistan to enhance their investments in the agricultural sector, because it is of paramount importance in establishing a strong infrastructure for the Kurdistan Region, explaining that the region enjoys fertile land that can be exploited to the fullest, and added: “With a strong will, all difficulties can be overcome.”
Masrour Barzani thanked the private sector, which plays a role in moving the economy in the Kurdistan Region, and stressed the government's desire to export local products abroad.
He said: "On this basis, we have held discussions with a number of countries with the aim of finding markets through which locally manufactured products can be marketed in Kurdistan."
He pointed out that the Kurdistan Regional Government has promised its citizens to provide the best services to them, and today it is fulfilling its promises, and the results can be seen.
The Prime Minister reiterated that these projects are only the beginning of strengthening the infrastructure of the Kurdistan Region, as there are projects in cities and towns that it is hoped will be launched as soon as possible.
He said, "We want to strengthen Kurdistan's infrastructure for future generations, and in order to raise the standard of living for our beloved citizens, we need the cooperation of citizens, the private sector and employees."
The Prime Minister spoke about the Iraqi legislative elections scheduled for the tenth of next month, explaining: "We are entering an electoral phase, and these elections are crucial for us."
The Prime Minister called on the representatives of the Kurdistan Region who will be elected, to defend the constitutional rights of the Kurdistan Region, including those that the federal government has not fulfilled, especially the cut-off areas, the budget, the Peshmerga and compensation for the Anfal, and they must restore these rights.
He also called on political forces to stay away from defamation and defamation in electoral campaigns, pointing out that whoever wins a seat in the Iraqi parliament must represent all of Kurdistan. He also urged everyone to adhere to health and preventive measures, especially since the Corona pandemic is not over yet.
