Oil prices rose, on Monday, after the Saudi oil production company "Aramco" raised the official selling price of its crude, while the price of a barrel of oil reached more than 83 dollars.
Brent crude rose 90 cents, or 1.1%, to $83.64 a barrel, after declining about 2% last week. US crude rose 87 cents, or 1.1%, to $82.14, after falling nearly 3% last week.
Late last Friday, Aramco raised the official selling price for the month of December to buyers of its Arab Light crude in Asia to $2.70 a barrel above the Oman/Dubai average, an increase of $1.40 from this month.
ANZ Research said in a note that Aramco's move indicated that "demand remains strong", at a time when the OPEC member and other major oil exporters continue to curb supplies.
The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and allies, including Russia, within the framework of the OPEC + group, agreed last week to stick to their plan to increase oil production by 400,000 barrels per day, starting next December.
