    Earth News/ The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs instructed, today, Sunday, to direct a letter to the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, to extinguish the debts owed by the double-salaries.
    A statement by the ministry, received by Earth News Agency, stated, "The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs for Administrative and Legal Affairs, Dr. Alaa Abboud Al-Sakini, met a number of demonstrators in front of the ministry's door to find out their problems, including finding a solution to the issue of debts owed by some beneficiaries of the social protection subsidy whose benefits were suspended as a precaution." Because there is a family member who receives a full-time employee’s salary, and some because of a traffic number, on Sunday 20/2-2022.”
    The statement added that "Al-Sakini held a meeting with the Administrative Deputy of the Authority for the Care of Persons with Disabilities and Special Needs, Ali Jaafar Al-Helou, the Director General of the Social Protection Department, Zikra Abdel Rahim, and a number of specialists in the two bodies to discuss the demands of the demonstrators and consider the possibility of developing immediate solutions to them, and the possibility of accelerating The procedures of the Social Protection Authority to approach the General Traffic Department for the purpose of supporting that the wheel for which the subsidy was suspended from its beneficiary owner of people with disabilities is registered with them and that the traffic number that he obtained was made under the Persons with Disabilities and Special Needs Law No. 38 of 2013 so that his subsidy is released.
    During the meeting, the Undersecretary instructed “to direct a letter to the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers to consider the possibility of extinguishing the debts owed by the double-salaries, since the decision to extinguish the debts is not within the authority of the Ministry, and the beneficiaries must either change the full-time appointee or exclude him from social protection in order to release the beneficiaries’ benefits that were suspended as a precaution. Because one of his family members receives the salary of a full-time appointee.”
    At the conclusion of the meeting, the undersecretary directed “the necessity of holding a press conference to educate the beneficiaries of the full-time employee’s salary within the Authority for the Care of People with Disabilities and Special Needs and the Social Protection Subsidy with the provisions of the two laws and to identify the main points to avoid the issue of overstepping the social protection subsidy.”
