Mayor of Baghdad Architect Alaa Maan confirmed, today, Thursday, the continuation of coordination with the Federal Integrity Commission to control the corrupt and manipulators of public money and all forms of corruption in the Municipality of Baghdad, the latest of which was seized in the People’s Municipality with evidence presented by the Secretariat to the Integrity Commission for the manipulation of an event in 2017.
A statement of the secretariat stated that "the mayor of Baghdad agreed with the Supreme Judicial Council and the Federal Integrity Commission to enhance joint cooperation in the fields of preventing, combating and exposing corruption in all its forms in the departments of the Baghdad secretariat in a way that supports the direction of the Baghdad Renaissance project and the vision of the state of Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi."
He added, "The Mayor of Baghdad valued the role of the authority and its continuous cooperation, which resulted in the seizure of employees in the People's Municipality, an amount of (800) million dinars and other amounts of money contrary to the law that occurred in 2017 after the municipal department revealed the existence of (12) instruments that were withdrawn and spent despite the fact that No administrative order was issued for the issuance of these instruments.”
He pointed out that "the Baghdad Municipality called on the authority to take appropriate legal measures against employees who manipulate public money and refer them to the judiciary.
