    With an increase of more than one million people annually, the number of Iraq’s population is expected to reach nearly 71 million people within less than 30 years, according to the American “CEOWORLD 2021” magazine for statistics, which is an expectation similar to the expectations of the Ministry of Planning, at a rate of more than one million people annually.
    The magazine said in a report that "the total population of the world currently stands at more than 7.8 billion people in 2022," noting that "China is still the country with the largest population in the world, with a population of more than 1.448 billion people."
    And she added, "Fourteen (14) countries have a population of more than 100 million, while there are ninety-one (91) countries with a population of more than 10 million, and China and India represent nearly 36% of the world's population."
    Globally, “China came as the largest population in the world with 1 billion and 448 million people during 2022, followed by India with 1 billion and 406 million people, followed by the United States of America with 334 million and 805 thousand people, and Indonesia came fourth with 279 million and 134 thousand people, while the Vatican State came with the lowest The world's population is 795, preceded by Tokelau, with 1,378, and Niue, with 1,622 people.
    The magazine pointed out that “the number of Iraq’s population for 2022 is currently 42 million and 164 thousand people, which is how it ranks 36th globally and fourth in the Arab world after Egypt, Sudan and Algeria,” indicating that “the number of Iraq’s population is expected to reach 50 million and 193 thousand people. in 2030 and to 70 million and 940 thousand people in the year 2050, with an annual growth rate of 1.0239 million people.”
     
    While Iraq recorded 1.3 million births during 2021, in 2020, it had recorded 1.25 births, which indicates an increase in the birth rate in Iraq by 4% compared to last year, while the population increased in just two years, about 2.6 million individuals.
    After only 6 years, these numbers will need about 13,000 schools, and new housing that may reach half a million homes, as well as universities, hospitals, electricity, and various infrastructure, and so on in the next year when the current year will witness more than one million new births.
