, "Al-Eqtisadiah" newspaper revealed the size of the market gains for the "oil giants" since the beginning of this year.
In a report based on the data of companies listed in the financial markets monitored by its reporting unit, the "Al-Eqtisadiah" indicated that "the giant oil companies benefited from the rise in their shares as a result of the continued rise in oil prices, especially during the current year, which enhances companies' profits for 2022, which may repeat 2008 or perhaps transcend it."
The "Al-Eqtisadiah" indicated that "the market gains of the oil giants, the "largest five companies", amounted to $828.3 billion during the current year, an increase of 31%," noting that "therefore, the combined market value of the major oil giants," Saudi Aramco, ExxonMobil, and Chevron, reached ", Shell, and Total", to about 3.52 trillion dollars, according to the last trading session, compared to about 2.
She also mentioned that "strong gains also affected the shares of oil companies, including ConocoPhillips and Petro China, which are competing with the big five in market value."
The report added that, "According to the data of the New York Stock Exchange, the market value of "ExxonMobil" increased by about 130 billion dollars, which is an increase of 50.8% from its values by the end of 2021, while the value of "Chevron" increased by more than 104.6 billion dollars (45%), and about 53.6 billion Dollars gained by Shell shares, while Total's market value increased by less than 10 billion dollars.
The report also revealed that "64% of the market gains achieved for the shares of the oil giants belong to "Saudi Aramco", while the increase in the value of "ExxonMobil" represents about 16% of the total market gains." Ended 29 / h
