The Media Office of the Prime Minister stated in a statement that "Nass" received a copy of it, (10 May 2022), that "Al-Kazemi chaired a meeting of the committee supervising the development of Tahrir Square and the Freedom Monument."

According to the statement, "Al-Kazemi stressed the historical and civilizational importance of the Freedom Monument and Tahrir Square, as cultural and artistic symbols, as well as being a component of the architectural identity of the city of Baghdad."

He also directed "to set a road map for the completion of the work that includes all the timing and technical details, and to start these tasks as soon as possible."

He also called for "to overcome all obstacles and facilitate the procedures for the work of the committee, so that the results come out in a manner befitting Baghdad's civilized face, and the importance of the monument to freedom in Iraqi memory."
