    [size=45]The Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, Hamid Al-Ghazi, and the Minister of Transport, Nasser Hussein Al-Shubaily, recommended, yesterday, Monday, during their meeting with a French company, finding a formula to include the suspended train project in the federal financial budget.[/size]
    [size=45]And the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers stated in a statement received by (Al-Mada), that "the Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers and the Minister of Transport discussed with the delegation of the French Alstom and Hyundai the Korean companies, completing the procedures related to the implementation of the Baghdad suspended train project."[/size]
    [size=45]The Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers indicated, according to the statement, that "the capital, Baghdad, needs ambitious plans to accommodate the population density, and support the government's approach to addressing the problem of traffic jams, by activating modern mass transportation and introducing advanced transportation systems, including the Baghdad suspended train, which is one of the important service and vital projects; to improve the transportation sector.[/size]
    [size=45]For his part, the Minister of Transport valued “the role of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, in coordinating efforts with the relevant sectoral authorities; To remove technical inconsistencies within the specified train tracks.[/size]
    [size=45]The statement pointed out that "the meeting recommended the development of the legal formula; To re-insert the suspended train project in the budget law, as well as to prepare a careful study during which the total obstacles faced by the proposed treatments, based on the technical report to be submitted by the beneficiary sectoral authority represented by the Ministry of Transport, will be prepared.[/size]
    [size=45]The statement confirmed that "the CEO of Alstom Company reviewed the stages that the project has gone through since 2017, in addition to the designs and studies that the company completed earlier," expressing "the readiness of his company and the Korean company to start the implementation process after completing the necessary legal, financial, technical and administrative procedures."[/size]
    [size=45]The Minister of Transport, Nasser Al-Shibli, had previously stated that "the suspended train project in Baghdad was among the projects of the year 2021."[/size]
    [size=45]Al-Shibli talked about “an agreement with the Minister of Planning to include it in the 2022 budget, and the contract will be signed, as it is ready with a consulting company to study the technical and commercial contracts.”[/size]
    [size=45]He pointed out that "the implementation will be through two French and Korean companies specialized in this field and are ready to work within 5 years with soft loans."[/size]
    [size=45]Al-Shibli added that "the cost of the project is estimated at less than two and a half billion dollars, and it will be among the upcoming projects for 2022."[/size]
