Al-Kazemi pledges to the Iraqis to complete a project within the Chinese agreement: “Many doubted it.”
Shafaq News/ Today, Saturday, Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi promised the Iraqis to complete a project within the Chinese agreement, noting that many doubted the seriousness of his government's implementation of this project.
Al-Kazemi said in a speech during a ceremony laying the foundation stone for the project to build 1,000 model schools across Iraq within the Iraqi-Chinese agreement, which was reviewed by Shafaq News Agency, "I announced today the launch of this project, and laid the foundation stone for it for the sake of Iraq and the Iraqis," noting that "this The project includes the construction of 1,000 schools, and it will include all governorates of Iraq, and we will follow up on the project and work within the timetable for its implementation.”
Al-Kazemi added, "We promise our people to complete this project within the Iraqi-Chinese agreement, which many have previously questioned about the government's lack of seriousness in implementing it." ".
The Prime Minister added, "This strategic project is important for building society and developing our generations towards building leaders to serve Iraq in the future. We must be aware that education and science are essential parts for the advancement of any society, but unfortunately there has been no interest in education since 2003."
Al-Kazemi stated, "Today we are launching this project, and we must also work to pay attention to education, not only in building schools, but in changing and developing educational curricula, and this is not only the responsibility of the government, but the responsibility of the government, the prime minister, specialized sectors, society and specialists."
Al-Kazemi explained, "We must make our choices between building the homeland or being lazy. Building requires patience and time, and demolishing is easy and can be destroyed within a short period."
The Prime Minister thanked those in charge and the Higher Committee for School Construction for this project, who worked day and night to implement it.
In mid-December 2021, the Iraqi government announced the signing of 15 contracts with the Chinese side to build 1,000 schools in different parts of the country, while the military authorities reported a security alert to protect the Chinese companies implementing the project.
