Today, Monday, Adviser to the Prime Minister, Hussein Allawi, confirmed the success of the second session of the National Dialogue Initiative, while noting that it went towards confirming the outcomes of the first session.
Allawi said in a press statement, "The second session of the National Dialogue Initiative was successful and he went towards confirming the outcomes of the first session to lay down a road map through a committee formed by the Iraqi forces."
Allawi added that "there is a rational, calm vision from the political leaders, and this requires a move towards a political dialogue path that may be long-term, but its results will be positive to build confidence among the Iraqi political forces."
He pointed out that "there is a moral responsibility on the prime minister, and he is still committed to it, which is to preserve the unity of the Iraqi people and society."
Allawi responded to a question about the reasons for the presence of the UN representative, Jenin Plasschaert, in the dialogue and the possibility of pressure from the United Nations on the political forces, saying, "I do not expect that there is pressure on the political forces, and the Iraqi government will never use this context, and there may be an international observer." , indicating that "the national dialogue under the auspices of Al-Kazemi is considered the first Iraqi-Iraqi dialogue."
And he indicated that "the United Nations may advise the Iraqi forces, not pressure them."
He continued, "There is still stability on the basic demands made by Mr. Al-Sadr, which are early elections and the dissolution of parliament, and the discussion is taking place within the national dialogue between combining the demands of the political forces and the demands of the current."
