On Sunday, Kurdish politician Latif Al-Sheikh described the Iraqi response to the Iranian bombing as weakness, indicating that Tehran is exploiting Baghdad's silence to launch more attacks against Erbil and Sulaymaniyah.
In an interview, the sheikh said that "Iran has exploited the state of Iraqi weakness and underestimated Iraqi sovereignty to continue its aggression."
He added that "it is unreasonable for this Iranian silence on the daily bombing of various areas in Erbil and Sulaymaniyah," noting that "the aggression is borne by the federal government in Baghdad, as it is concerned with responding and preserving the country's sovereignty."
The Kurdistan Democratic Party had called on the government to end the Iranian aggression and to move through diplomacy to protest against the continued bombing
