The Ministry of Planning has set the date for conducting the population census in all governorates of the country.
The central organ of the ministry said, in a statement, that Iraq is at the forefront of the Arab countries in implementing the general population census, indicating that Iraq witnessed the first population census in the year one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven and that continued until the year one thousand nine hundred and ninety-seven.
He added that the attempt to implement the census in the year two thousand and nine came to be satisfied with the process of counting and numbering without the counting process, expressing his hope that it will be conducted at the end of next year in all parts of Iraq without exception, including the governorates of the Kurdistan Region and in an electronic way.
The Ministry of Planning and Development Cooperation estimated that at the end of the year two thousand and twenty-one, Iraq's population numbered more than forty-one million.
