The Federal Ministry of Environment has appreciated the pioneering environmental initiative taken by the President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Pavel Jalal Talabani, to improve the environmental reality in the Kurdistan Region.
As President Pavel Jalal Talabani directed to plant one million trees in Sulaymaniyah and a number of cities in the region, he also instructed to convert all party headquarters into sustainable and environmentally friendly buildings, in addition to urging all sectors of society to be partners with the state in improving the environmental reality
. The public and private sectors should develop a culture of going towards sustainability and the application of environmental concepts among the basic tasks in their roles and responsibilities.
