    Today, Saturday, the Baghdad Chamber of Commerce announced the establishment of a council for businesswomen.
    The head of the Baghdad Chamber of Commerce, Firas Al-Hamdani, said in a speech during the businesswomen's conference: "The long-awaited businesswomen's council was established in the Baghdad Chamber of Commerce, so that women are real partners in the reconstruction of Iraq."
    In turn, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Safia Al-Suhail said: "Her presence at the conference aims to support women economically and empower them in society," stressing that "the time has come for there to be greater participation of women in business and in leadership roles and entrepreneurship."
    She added, "It is possible to give women greater roles in the next stage, especially in line with the government program presented by Prime Minister Muhammad Shia'a al-Sudani, who emphasized the role of the private sector in all sectors, especially with regard to women," stressing that "
    Al-Suhail pointed out that "the economic independence of women is a prerequisite for women's economic and social empowerment," calling on "the ambassadors present and the diplomatic corps to open bridges of cooperation between Iraqi businesswomen and their counterparts in their countries."
    She pointed out, "There is an economic council of the Arab League that can provide support and empowerment to enhance the work of the Iraqi Businesswomen's Council," calling on the representative of the United Nations for Women to "cooperate in order to support the council at the international level or the European Union."
    And she indicated, "The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will serve joint cooperation with the Baghdad Chamber of Commerce and the Businesswomen's Council."
