    Shafaq News / The Undersecretary of the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Safia Al-Suhail, stressed on Saturday the importance of supporting women economically and enabling them to participate in businesswomen's forums around the world, while the Baghdad Chamber of Commerce announced the imminent establishment of the Businesswomen's Council in the chamber.



    Undersecretary Safia Al-Suhail said, in her speech during the businesswomen's conference, which was attended by the Shafaq News Agency correspondent: "We are here today to support women economically and empower them in society," stressing the need for "greater participation of women in business, leadership roles and entrepreneurship.
    Al-Suhail added, "We can give greater roles in the next stage, especially in line with the government program represented by Prime Minister Muhammad Shia'a al-Sudani, who stressed the importance of the role of the private sector represented in all sectors, especially women who have proven to build their companies to enhance capabilities."
    And she believed that "businesswomen have successes that are to be proud of in all sectors, and the economic independence of women is a prerequisite for women's economic and social empowerment," calling on ambassadors and the diplomatic corps to "open bridges of cooperation between Iraqi businesswomen, and businesswomen in chambers of commerce and others in the countries of the world."
    Al-Suhail stressed that "there is an economic council in the Arab League that can provide support and empowerment to enhance the work of the Businesswomen's Council," calling on the representative of the United Nations for Women in Iraq to "cooperate in order to support the Businesswomen's Council at the level of the United Nations or the European Union at the level of relations." bilateralism, especially in the economic world.
    For his part, the head of the Baghdad Chamber, Firas Al-Hamdani, said in a speech during the conference, which was attended by the agency, that there is "a new opportunity launched by the Baghdad Chamber of Commerce, by announcing the establishment of the Businesswomen's Council in the Chamber of Commerce, which has been long-awaited for more than two years and is being worked on." To establish this council according to the capabilities, and for women to be a real partner in the reconstruction of the country.
