Today, millions of pilgrims in the holy city of Karbala celebrate the pilgrimage of the half of Sha'ban, amid security, service and medical measures.
The birth of Imam Al-Mahdi (may God hasten his reappearance) is among the most prominent millions of visits that the holy province of Karbala witnesses annually, as believers from all over the country and the world flock to visit the shrines of Imam Hussein and his brother Al-Abbas (peace be upon them both).
According to a press release, the Holy Hussain Shrine announced the preparation of a special plan for the visit, which includes the participation of 834 processions from various governorates to provide services to visitors, as well as the deployment of 90 mobile paramedics inside and outside the shrine of Imam Hussein (PBUH) and the Old City, in addition to the establishment of an emergency center inside the shrine of Aqila Zainab (pbuh). p) Mobile clinics and ambulances to provide medical services.
For his part, the head of the Department of Maintaining Order at the Holy Husayni Shrine, Rasool Abbas, said: The shrine began implementing the security plan for the visit, and it included mobilizing all the department's employees with a large number of volunteers at the vital points of the entrances and exits of the shrines to facilitate the smooth flow and movement of visitors. He added that the plan witnessed the participation of more than (3,500) volunteers from various governorates, and explosives detectors and electronic gates were deployed, as well as (1,500) cameras in the city center and the two thresholds, in addition to the introduction of parts of the new system with international specifications.
Abbas indicated the formation of a joint operations room with the concerned authorities in the Operations Command and the police, as well as joint coordination with the rest of the departments and other divisions in the shrine for the purpose of providing services during the peak of the visit.
In Najaf, thousands of pilgrims heading to the holy city of Karbala flocked to the province three days ago, on foot, to commemorate the Shaaban visit, while the security services and service departments began their plans prepared in this context.
The media spokesman for the Najaf police, Brigadier General Miqdad Al-Musawi, told Al-Sabah: The police command has intensified its security practices since the beginning of the blessed month of Sha'ban, to secure the province's celebrations of the birthdays of the imams of Ahl al-Bayt (PBUH) until the fifteenth day of the month of Sha'ban, when Muslims celebrate the birth anniversary. Imam Hujjah (pbuh).
And he indicated that the Najaf police intensified their patrols and detachments on the main and Nismia roads that visitors take towards Karbala, and also stressed careful inspection in the external controls of the province.
In turn, Najaf Traffic Director Brigadier General Wissam Shuhaib Al-Kaabi pointed out to "Al-Sabah" the deployment of patrols and detachments on three axes, the first from Al-Manathira, the second from Kufa, and the last from the city center of Najaf towards Karbala. He stressed that the traffic plan does not include any cuts in the streets and there is a smooth flow of traffic despite the increasing number of visitors and vehicles. As for the Director of the Operations Department in the Najaf Health Department, Dr. Moufid Abu Ghoneim, he explained to "Al-Sabah": that 27 medical detachments, in addition to 35 ambulances, have been deployed on the roads and streets leading to the holy governorate of Karbala. For his part, the director of the General Company for the Management of Private Transport, Ahmed Al-Musawi, told Al-Sabah: The company has deployed control teams to regulate the movement of vehicles entering the holy Karbala governorate within four axes, as it monitors vehicles inside garages and fare prices.
He pointed out that the company has developed an integrated plan to regulate the movement of vehicles and the flow of their entry and exit from the holy city of Karbala towards the holy city of Najaf through the Haidaria axis. And the holy governorates of Karbala, Najaf, Muthanna, Diwaniyah, Basra, Maysan, Dhi Qar, Babel and Wasit announced the suspension of official working hours today, on the occasion of the visit.
