The Parliamentary Services Committee seeks to move the wheel of stalled laws stalled in the House of Representatives since several previous sessions, including the adoption of the Baghdad Capital Law.
Committee member Mahma Khalil said, in an interview with “Al-Sabah”: “Among the laws that can be reviewed during this session is the Public Roads Law, the Baghdad Capital Law, as well as the Land Trespass Law and the Taxation Law,” noting that “all of them are important laws that are carried forward.” From the previous sessions, which we called on Parliament to proceed with a vote on and legislate it,” noting that “the government withdrew these laws to reconsider them to comply with the requirements of the current stage.”
Regarding the capital law, Khalil explained, "It was not completed due to political differences in previous sessions, and in this session there are two draft laws that will be unified according to constitutional and legal articles, and the law will be enacted in order to disengage and overlap between the governorate and the municipality."
