Reconstruction: housing units do not cover more than a quarter of the country's needs

The Ministry of Construction, Housing and Public Municipalities stated that the total number of housing units projects currently implemented or under implementation and preparation do not meet more than a quarter of the country's actual need for them until the year 2030.
The Director General of the Ministry's Housing Department, Sadiq Muhammad al-Fartousi, said in a statement to "Al-Sabah": The data and statistics prepared by his ministry and the competent authorities confirm the country's need for three million housing units up to the year 2030 in order to address the suffocating housing crisis in it.
He added that, on the other hand, the statistics indicate that the total housing units projects implemented or under implementation and preparation in the country exceed 850 thousand, which means that they will contribute to meeting the country's need for units up to the year 2030.
