    Baghdad - Nas
The "Technology for Peace" team, which specializes in combating fake news on social media, explained, on Thursday, the truth about the news circulated about "Al-Sudani's recent issuance of a decision banning the import of Iranian cars into the country."

The technical team stated, in a clarification followed by "NAS", (March 16, 2023), that "a news circulated on social media that (Al-Sudani issues a decision to cancel the import of Iranian cars" Saipa, Samand, Taiba, Peugeot "and declares that it is a matter of the homeland and has nothing to do with it. by sect and Shiites).

He stressed, "The news circulated is incorrect, as the Prime Minister (Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani) did not issue a similar decision recently, just as the last session held by the Council of Ministers included several decisions, and it did not include banning the import of Iranian cars, as was claimed."

He added, "Also, after research, it became clear that (Al-Sudani's) statement is old, dating back to 2020, when he was a member of the Iraqi Parliament, where he held a television interview with Al-Sumaria channel at the time and talked about canceling four contracts for cars with Iranian companies, after a discussion with the lieutenant colonel. (Saadoun Damad) on the work of Iraqi politicians to put sectarian interests before national interests in the country.
