Mohsen al-Mandalawi, First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, confirmed that several parliamentary committees have adopted a draft law that would provide justice to red card holders (fleeing from the Iraqi army during the time of Saddam Hussein's regime), including canceling the unfair decisions of the dissolved Revolutionary Command Council.
A statement by the representative's media office, received by (Baghdad Today), said, "The House of Representatives is keen to address the problems facing this large segment, and to compensate it for the damage it suffered as a result of its opposition to the policies of the former regime, during its reception with representatives of those with red cards."
According to the statement, the representative directed the concerned parliamentary committees to expedite the completion of the steps to redress this segment affected by the policies of the previous regime, in a way that secures them a decent life,” calling for “giving their case great attention due to the harsh conditions that befell them during that era.”
