    During his visit to Basra, the Minister of Environment, Eng. Nizar Amidi, met with the governorate, Asaad Al-Eidani, to inspect environmental projects that are part of the mitigation and adaptation curriculum in the National Contribution Document for Climate Change.
     The Minister of Environment expressed his willingness and endeavor to cooperate and coordinate with the local government in the province of Basra to provide everything that can be provided to contribute to improving the environmental reality and supporting environmental projects in the province.
    Amidi said during the meeting that the aim of the visit is to assess the current environmental reality of Basra Governorate and to highlight the environmental problems and challenges that the governorate suffers from, and the repercussions of the climate change crisis in terms of desertification, receding green spaces and water scarcity, which requires a serious pause to find appropriate solutions and at different levels to advance this reality in service of the interest. and access to a healthy environment.
    For his part, the Governor of Basra, Asaad Al-Eidani, stated that the Climate Conference, which was held in Basra, resulted in programs and projects prepared in advance for the advancement of the Iraqi environment 
    . Sudani, in addition to the significant contributions made by international organizations, European Union countries and the representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations.
