Parliament is "mobilizing" to criminalize usury and overthrow the "predecessor of Al-Fayez".. Will it affect government bank loans?

    Baghdad today - Baghdad
With the signatures and support of about a quarter of the Iraqi parliament’s deputies, a request to legislate a law “to combat usury” has become on the table of the Presidency of the Council of Representatives, in an approach that shows parliamentary insistence on “narrowing down” this phenomenon, which has become widely practiced in societal circles as well as in governmental and non-governmental banking institutions.
And a document seen by "Baghdad Today" showed that a member of the Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee, Representative Alaa Al-Haidari, submitted a request to the Speaker of Parliament to legislate the anti-usury law, accompanied by the signatures of 82 deputies, who constitute approximately 25% of the 329 members of the House of Representatives.
