    Baghdad / Obelisk Al-Hadath: The head of the National Commission for Investment, Haider Muhammad Makiya, confirmed that Baghdad and the Kurdistan region are preparing to hold a promising investment forum.
    The official spokesman for the National Commission, Muthanna Al-Ghanmi, said in a statement received by Al-Masalla, that a delegation from the National Commission for Investment, headed by the Chairman of the Commission, Haider Muhammad Makiya, visited the Investment Commission in the Kurdistan Region and met with its president, Muhammad Shukri, in the presence of its advanced staff.
    He added that the aim of the visit of the delegation of the National Commission is to twin the investment and economic work and joint cooperation between the two bodies and to exchange views on laws and instructions related to investment, and mechanisms to provide an attractive economic environment for companies and local investors in the region after reviewing and studying the opportunities available to the Investment Commission in the Kurdistan Region.
    He indicated that the meeting discussed the importance of coordination and bilateral cooperation in order to open up dealings with local investors within the region and implement vital projects in the sectors of tourism, trade and industry, indicating that the National Investment Commission has a vision of creating a joint business case that allows investors from different provinces to apply for opportunities within the region and initiate Its implementation will reflect positively on the national economy and open a gateway to job opportunities.
    He added that the Chairman of the National Commission for Investment, Haider Muhammad Makiya, stresses the centrality of the strategic partnership between Baghdad and the region in terms of investment and pioneering projects in the sectors of housing, tourism, trade and industry, and that the National Commission in Baghdad and Erbil prepared preliminary preparations to hold a promising investment forum to present ready opportunities in the region and the provinces and study them from In terms of locations, areas, type of activity, and legal approvals related to each project.
    For his part, the head of the Investment Commission in the Kurdistan Region, Muhammad Shukri, expressed his appreciation for the initiative of the National Investment Commission, represented by its president, Haider Muhammad Makiya, in bridging investment relations in a way that serves the interest of Iraq and its development and made it among the developed countries from the urban and economic side, stressing the willingness of his commission to open up by dealing seriously with companies and investors. From the various Iraqi governorates to start businesses and projects within the Kurdistan region, according to what laws and regulations allow.
